Directions to the Astor House
It's not hard to find the Astor House. We are located in the city of Green Bay about eight blocks south of the downtown area, right on Highway 57 and one-half block south of Highway 54 which is also known as Mason Street.
CHICAGO OR MILWAUKEE
If you are coming from either Chicago or Milwaukee, the best way to reach us is to take Interstate Highway I-94 through Milwaukee to I-43 North. Take I-43 to the Highway 172 exit. (You can also take Hwy. 41 North to Hwy. 172.) Then take Hwy. 172 to the Webster Ave./Riverside Drive-Hwy 57 exit. Take Riverside Drive, which is also Highway 57, heading North. Riverside Drive will become Monroe Avenue after about four miles. Stay on Monroe Ave and go through the traffic light at Porlier Street. The Astor House is about three blocks beyond Porlier on the right hand side of the street. The last intersection before you reach us is Cass Street. Our driveway is just beyond the red brick house on the corner of Monroe and Cass. Our address is 637 S. Monroe Avenue. Caution: Go slow. Our driveway comes up fast!
MADISON
If you are coming from the Madison area, take Highway 151 to Highway 26 in Waupun and on through Rosendale (go slow!) to Highway 41 North. Take Highway 41 to Green Bay and exit onto Highway 172 East toward Green Bay. Exit at Webster Ave./Riverside Drive (Hwy 57) and follow the directions above.
RHINELANDER, MERRILL, WAUSAU, STEVENS POINT AREA
If you are coming from the Rhinelander, Merrill, Wausau, Stevens Point Area, take Highway 51/I-39 South to Hwy. 29 East into Green Bay. Hwy. 29 will bring you to Shawano Ave. Take Shawano Ave. East. It will become Walnut St. After you cross the bridge, go five blocks to Monroe Ave., and turn right. Take Monroe Ave. South about seven blocks and look for us on the left after you go under the overpass that is Hwy. 54 or Mason St. There will be a gray stucco apartment building on your right. We are across the street from that building near the intersection of Cass and Monroe. You will need to make a U-turn to enter our driveway.
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL or EAU CLAIRE, MENOMONIE AREA
From the Minneapolis/St. Paul, or Eau Claire, Menomonie area, Hwy. 29 East to Highway 51/I-39 South to Hwy. 29 East into Green Bay. Hwy. 29 will bring you into Shawano Ave. Take Shawano Ave. East.
